Carer’s Trust highlights one of our young carers, Ariel, for Young Carers Action Day 2024. It’s great to see and hear the impact West Norfolk has.

‘After serving on the front line in the army for 14 years, Christine was later diagnosed with PTSD and agoraphobia. From the age of 6, Ariel has been caring for her mum and has had responsibilities usually taken on by someone well beyond her years.’

Our far reaching services impact new and existing individuals and families every year with positive results.

Our Groups

We run several carer’s groups for both young and adult carers. These groups provide a point of contact to answer your queries. Whether you need guidance, advice or just a listening ear, we are here to help. If we can’t help, we certainly know someone who can.

Young carers

Our Young Carers groups provide support and a break from your child’s caring role. Our five groups help to arrange fun days out and short breaks away from home. We provide 1-1 individual support to help build confidence and give time to talk.

Adult carers; West norfolk carers & friends (Alzheimer’s support group)

We run two groups, one in King’s Lynn and the other in Hunstanton for those in need of support suffering with or who have been affected by Alzheimer’s.

Drop in’s & 1-1 Support

We have regular carer drop-in support at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and many GP surgeries. 1-1 Support can also be provided.

October 2017

“From the outset West Norfolk Carers was there for me and my family. Not only was I listened to, but I got the practical help I needed too. We like to think of West Norfolk Carers as a special friend that has got us through the difficulties we have faced.”
